This is the first time the kids sang in church – just the three of them. Next time I am going to have to emphasize with Samuel that he needs to look up, smile a bit and make some eye contact. All week he had told me that he didn’t want to sing in front of the church but I kept encouraging him. He does not like to be in front of people and I can so relate to that.
The song the kids are singing is a very special song to me. I learned it in the 9th grade on a missions trip to Mexico. That song has stayed with me and I have sung that song to my kids since we brought Samuel home from the hospital. My kids call it the “Shadow Song”. The other night I sneaked a peak at Sophia in her room, kneeling beside her bed and rubbing her dolls back while singing this song.
I dug out our old laptop that we had in Brazil. It is very slow and sickly so we don’t use it for Internet but I have a lot of pictures stored on it. I thought I would share some pictures of the kids when they were smaller. I so enjoyed their baby years.

Sarah at 9 months old,

Samuel’s 2nd birthday. He has had a dinosaur birthday from age 3 up to his present age.

Sophia as a newborn. What a tramatic ordeal bringing this one into the world! Bob only snapped one photo of me – I was in bad shape.

Fishing with bamboo … the simple things in life make the best memories.

Does Sarah look guilty?? Nailpolish was everywhere …

Sophie got into my makeup …

Sophia got into my lipstick …

Sophie’s smile is still contagious.
So, there you go … my little walk down memory lane. I feel bad sometimes that our family and friends never knew my kids during their early ages of life. Mom in FL – this post is dedicated to you.
